What the app collects

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no registration, and no profile. The app asks for no name, email address, date of birth, or any other identifier.

It contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party software development kits. It makes no network requests of any kind, because the code to make one is not present in the app.

Because nothing is collected, there are no third parties to disclose. No advertising network, analytics provider, cloud service, support platform, or other partner receives any information about you or your use of the app. In App Store Connect the app declares that no data is collected, and its bundled privacy manifest lists no collected data types.

Your heart rate readings

Readings arrive from your Bluetooth sensor, appear on screen, and are written to files inside the app's own storage on your device. They stay there. They are never transmitted, never uploaded, and never seen by the developer or anyone else. The developer has no access to your readings, your session history, or your settings, and no technical means of obtaining them.

Session history is likewise stored only on the device, as files in the app's private container.

Apple Health

The app does not use HealthKit. It neither reads from nor writes to Apple Health. Should a later version add Apple Health support, it will require your explicit permission, and this policy will be updated before that version is released.

Exporting and sharing

You can export a session as a CSV or PDF file. The app prepares the file on your device and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet, at which point you choose where it goes: Files, Mail, a messaging app, a cloud drive, or anywhere else installed on your phone.

This is the only route by which your data can leave the device, and only you can open it. Once a file has been sent somewhere, it is governed by the privacy policy of whatever service or app you sent it to, not by this one. Choose deliberately.

Files prepared for export are held temporarily and removed automatically within a day.

Deleting your data

Delete sessions individually, or several at once, from the history screen inside the app. To remove everything, delete the app: that erases all recordings and settings from the device. Export anything you want to keep before you do, because deletion is permanent and there is no backup held anywhere else.

Settings you enter

Your maximum heart rate, age, sex, text size, theme, and spoken-reading preferences are stored on the device so the app remembers them. They are used for nothing but the features they configure, and they never leave the phone.

Permissions

The app requests one permission: Bluetooth. It is used solely to discover and communicate with your heart rate sensor. It is not used for location, proximity detection, advertising, or anything else. No camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, or Health permissions are requested.

Apple

Your purchase is a transaction with Apple, not with the developer. Apple handles payment and may collect information about the download and about your use of the App Store, and may provide the developer with aggregate sales and crash statistics that do not identify individual users. That processing is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.

This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no scripts, loads no fonts or images from other domains, and carries no analytics. It is hosted on GitHub, which records server logs, including visitors' IP addresses, in the ordinary course of serving the pages.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Rights of access, correction, erasure, and portability under the GDPR apply to personal data held by a controller. No personal data is collected by, transmitted to, or held by the developer, so there is nothing held about you to access, correct, or erase.

Your recordings are already in your own hands: on your own device, in an open text format you can read, export, or destroy at will.

Changes

If a future version of the app ever collects or transmits anything, this policy and the app's App Store privacy disclosures will both be updated before that version is released, and the change will be described in the release notes. Any such feature would be optional and off by default.
